Fire safety education and programs

The Maple Grove Fire-Rescue Department provides an extensive fire prevention education program in the community. Standardized fire safety programs are conducted each year in local schools for grades K, 1, 4, 5, 7, and 8.

Fire safety education resources include:

• Candle safety
• Carbon monoxide information
• Electrical safety resources
• Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for kids
• Fire Safe Kids
• Minnesota Department of Public Safety
• National Wildlife Federation - forest fires

Senior Smoke Alarm Program

This program helps seniors ensure there are working smoke alarms in their home.

Fire extinguisher training

Upon request, the department will set up a fire extinguisher training session for businesses, neighborhoods, community groups, and babysitting classes.
