MPCA investigation
The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) is proactively investigating possible source(s) of TCE detected in the City of Maple Grove. The investigation aims to identify potential receptors (i.e., private water wells) for water testing to assess the extent of TCE, and to check for other contaminants in groundwater. If private wells are identified within the assessment area, the MPCA will request permission for well testing by an environmental contractor. The sampling data will provide additional insight into the quality of groundwater in the area along the eastern edge of the city.
There is no concern with the municipal system, and city water continues to meet the requirements of the Safe Drinking Water Act.
